Our CO2 footprint

Our goal of "climate neutrality"

CO2 is a harmful substance for our atmosphere that is released both directly and indirectly through human activity. It is therefore very important to know whether and to what extent CO2 is produced by certain activities. The analysis of all processes, whether in relation to products or company procedures, forms the basis for future improvement. For this reason, the company behind the Jangal brand is drawing up a CO2 balance sheet. By optimizing individual components of our activities, we aim to reduce CO2 emissions in the future. We are aware that it is not yet possible to be completely CO2-neutral. Nevertheless, we are taking measures to avoid releasing additional CO2 pollution into the atmosphere. We invest in projects that bind more CO2 than they cause. In this way, we can offset our CO2 emissions so that our balance sheet compensates for the emissions minus the amount of CO2 saved in the financed projects. We achieve these goals in cooperation with ClimatePartner. All of our carbon footprint data can be viewed via the following link. This information is updated and published annually. Not only large measures have an impact, but many small steps also contribute to reducing our CO2 emissions. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Our mission

Photovoltaics

In 2021, we installed a photovoltaic system at our Gladbeck site, which makes us independent of external electricity sources. This allows us to use renewable energies and significantly reduce our CO2 emissions. Another one will follow at our Gelsenkirchen site in 2023.

Biomass heating

Since moving into our site in Gladbeck, we have been using a biomass heating system that runs on wood chips. This sustainable heating system makes a significant contribution to reducing our CO2 emissions.

Paperless-Office

Since 2015, we have opted for a paperless office and archive all documents in digital form. This not only enables us to retrieve documents quickly and efficiently, but above all saves a considerable amount of paper. The reduction in printing volume also makes a positive contribution to our carbon footprint.

Homeoffice

We were very surprised in the analysis that the distances employees travel from home to work and back again account for a very large proportion of a company's CO2 production. This is another reason why we offer all employees the opportunity to work from home. By giving them the flexibility to work from home, we are making a positive contribution to the CO2 balance. Less commuting means fewer emissions and therefore a reduction in our ecological footprint.

At Jangal, we firmly believe that protecting our planet and a sustainable future go hand in hand. That is why we are constantly working to minimize our CO2 emissions and make our processes even more efficient. Our measures in the area of sustainability and climate protection are part of our corporate philosophy and an expression of our responsibility towards the environment and future generations. We are proud that we are making an important contribution to CO2 reduction with our efforts. Transparency is particularly important to us, which is why we make our carbon footprint available on a regular basis. We will continue to look for new ways to make our processes and procedures even more sustainable in the future. With our determination and your trust, together we want to make a positive contribution to climate protection and secure a future worth living for generations to come.
